Clay Aiken before and after plastic surgery
I don’t watch American Idol…I’m not sure why I feel I need to announce that. Anyhow, even I know that Clay Aiken gained his fame by coming in second on the hit competition show, and went on to sell millions of albums right off that bat. However, since his early success, Clay hasn’t been the star his management had hoped he’d be, and it seems he has gone under the knife to improve his image. For starters, he appears to have had his ears, once popping out of the sides of his head like satellite dishes, pinned back (otoplasty). He also appears to have had a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) making his eyes seem wider, and less…uhhhh…creepy. It’s entirely possible that he also had his chin restructured or implanted and cheek implants, although this could just be a result of him putting on weight. Either way, I’m not a fan of his music, or his new look, or his old look, or pants, they’re so restricting.

The one thing about bloggers is that once an untrue rumor hits the net – it’s picked up by thousands of other bloggers and then becomes so called “news” without any verification as to the truth of the matter. Clay did not have plastic surgery. No eyelid work, cheek implants, etc.
Clay did suffer from a TMJ disorder and in 2009 had TMJ surgery where his jaw was broken in 2 places and reset. Long recovery and very painful with lots of swelling that lasts for months. Did it change his appearance? Probably. In the one picture above Clay only weighed 140 lbs which is pretty skinny when one is 6′ 1″. The other – not sure, could have been after the surgery. As with most – weight goes up and down too. Anyway – to get the truth why not go to the source. Clay discussed this himself in a blog to fans and was quite open about it.
