Donnie Yen Spends Yen To Get American-Eyes-ed

Donnie Yen hasn’t really made a huge impact on American movie screens just yet, with his only big roles being either behind the camera as a fight choreographer or on screen in lower grossing films like Shanghai Nights. However, he has multiple award nominations in Asia and is a huge star because of his work starring in movies like Ip Man and Ip Man 2. Reports have it that he has made hundreds of millions of Yen during his career and has apparently spent some of it on plastic surgery. It seems that in a rumored effort look “more Caucasian” and perhaps cross over better into the American film market, he got eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and major dental work, including veneers. It’s pretty evident when you look at more recent pictures that his eyelids look folded. It also seems like he may have gotten a face lift, since his skin seems very tight on his face, but it’s also possible that he’s just aging really well. That’s a shame if he’s really gotten work done to look more American; he probably could have saved his money and just bought a Yankee hat, or tickets to a Monster Truck Rally, or you know, just kept being Asian, since it’s not the 1940s anymore.
