Former “The View” co-host Star Jones confirmed that she had gastric bypass surgery in 1993 after the 5 foot, 5 inch television personality ballooned to 307 pounds. Seventeen years after the surgery, Jones now weighs 150 pounds. Jones is rumored to have received a tummy tuck and breast lift. I could justify those procedures. After losing half her body weight, a tuck and lift were probably necessary. Now that Jones is up and about again following cardiac heart surgery in March 2010, her new role on “Celebrity Apprentice” has found her in a bit of turmoil with “Real Atlanta Housewives” “star” NeNe Leakes. Her talentless co-stars – NeNe and LaToya Jackson – had the nerve to gang up on Jones. If anything, they need to follow the lead of a true black woman. Jones didn’t gain popularity off a stupid reality show. And, LaToya the Friendly Ghost needs to shush. Too bad Bubbles didn’t smack her during that Animal Planet documentary on her late brother. I admire the class of Jones, who has refused to take part in NeNe’s garbage.
“Real Housewifes of Atlanta” and “Celebrity Apprentice” reality star NeNe Leakes is rumored to have undergone a rhinoplasty, breast reduction, breast lift and waist-contouring liposuction. Rumors of Leakes’ procedures began nearly a year ago when pictures surfaced of NeNe with a new nose. Plastic surgeons say NeNe had a nose job to make her nose look smaller and to get rid of the bump at the end. However, some wonder if NeNe went too far with the nose job because her honker is drastically different. Gossip mills are reporting that her friends are worried that NeNe is becoming obsessed with plastic surgery. The outspoken reality star is rumored to have some personal image issues, and surgery helps her on the quest to become perfect. Now I understand why some people say that Leakes is hooked on plastic surgery. Why would someone need to have their breast implants lifted? That is extreme. Hopefully, she does not become another Michael Jackson or Lil’ Kim. But, with all the procedures she has already had at 40, she is well on her way.
Oprah Winfrey has undergone several physical changes in her climb to become the media giant. But, how many of these changes was the result of Oprah going to a plastic surgeon’s office? Rumors have abounded that Winfrey has gone under the knife for a rhinoplasty and liposuction. Plastic surgeons interviewed for comments say she is as natural as they come. When Oprah was with a Baltimore news station, the suits wanted her to have a nose job and have her eyes closer together. However, she declined. The change in her nose is can be attributed to clever lighting and makeup. One celebrity plastic surgeon – Anthony Youn, was the only naysayer in the group. He contends Winfrey had a rhinoplasty early in her career. He said that her nose has thinned. When Oprah was asked about the rumors that she had a breast lift, liposuction and a chin implant, Winfrey denied the rumors and patted herself on the back for looking so natural for her age. Maybe if we had a larger crop of earlier photos of Oprah, we could judge for ourselves.

Former “Apprentice” bad girl Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth definitely kept it real with her breast augmentation. The reality star was the subject for the Discovery Channel’s show, “Plastic Surgery Before and After.” She wasn’t alone for the show. Her mother, Theresa, 64, went under the knife for a boob job, liposuction and a tummy tuck. Omarosa told Star that the augmentation has made a huge difference (pardon the pun). The 32 year old went from an A cup to a small D cup. Omarosa said she publicly had the procedure done to avoid speculation. She said people lie about having surgery, and she wanted to remain honest. My chest aches when I look at pictures of Omarosa. Those new breasts have to be painful. They don’t fit her body. Huge mistake (again, pardon the pun). It looks as if she has two water balloons sitting on her chest. Then, in some of her post surgery photos, her breasts look like they were greased down. They look gross. Omarosa recently said the surgery has helped her career. Not really.
Kim Fields will always be known as Tootie Ramsey, the roller-skating darling with the mushroom perm, from the 1980s comedy ”The Facts of Life.” Viewers might remember that once puberty hit Fields, she really blossomed – especially her breasts. Fields’ first breast reduction procedure was performed when she was 16 years old. To mirror real life, in 1993, the actress’ character on the popular show, “Living Single,” Regine Carter, had a breast reduction. The 5-foot-tall actress and director decided to have another breast reduction after the 2007 birth of her son. This is a reversal of why many entertainers go under the knife. Breast reductions receive very little coverage on the gossip circuit, mainly because they are done for health or psychological reasons. Actresses such as Drew Barrymore and Soleil “Punky Brewster” Moon Frye have commented on their decision to go less in the chest. Both said huge breasts and a small body frame don’t go hand in hand. Also, an obvious reason, men love breasts and Barrymore and Frye felt they could not enter into a meaningful relationship with a man with boobs alone.
It seems that Kelly Rowland has followed in the footsteps of her Destiny’s Child cohort, Beyonce Knowles – right to the plastic surgeon’s office. The solo artist has publicly admitted she had a breast augmentation and it is rumored that she had a rhinoplasty. Rowland reportedly went from an A-cup to B-cup. The singer, 30, said she was hesitant to discuss the breast job, but when rumors started to fly, she came clean. As for the nose job, she has never admitted to having the procedure but before and after pictures show a change in her nose. Internet gossipers say her new nose doesn’t change her face. Or, that she didn’t have surgery. Her nose adjustment is the result of makeup. I don’t agree. I think she had a nose job. If she didn’t, give that makeup to every woman who is considering a rhinoplasty so they can save some money. A magazine recently asked Rowland about her opinion of Botox. She is not a fan of the procedure now, but we will see if she changes her tune when the wrinkles come a jogging along.
“American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks is rumored to have had lip injections such as Restylane or another dermal filler to make her lips look fuller. Experts are unsure if the singer had a lip augmentation and the only way to really tell is if someone can find a high school photo of the singer. Sparks’ full lips could also be attributed to her bi-racial background; she is half black, half white.
In late 2009, the daughter of former New York Giant player Phillippi Sparks, had to cancel a trip to perform on “Australian Idol” to undergo surgery for appendicitis. Sparks, who used to work as a plus-sized model, was almost unrecognizable after she showed off her slimmed-down body during the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night XVII in March 2011. Sparks later told the media that she will never be a size 2, but she is satisfied with her new figure. The 21 year old really has it going on now. She has a cute bod to match her beautiful voice. Work it girlfriend!
Donatella Versace probably isn’t as renowned a fashion designer as her late brother Gianni, but she’s certainly had far more plastic surgery than he ever did. Donatella is one of those not-as-rare-as-we-wish-they-were kind of people that go flat out overboard with their surgeries. Trying to stave off the effects of age and a naturally homely appearance (she used to look like the lady that ran my local pizza shop), she has had multiple facelifts to the point where her skin looks way too tight, and way too stretched. She looks kind of like when you put a picture of silly putty and then pull it apart, except it’s not funny because she’s a real person, so it’s just terrifying. She also had either some substance injected in her lips, or had permanent implants, because they look so swollen that she appears to be wearing those wax lip things I used to get when I’d go trick or treating (ask yourself: Did you try to eat them? I know I did). Basically, without putting out that much more negative energy, she is what happens when plastic surgery goes wrong, plain and simple.

One cannot deny the petite Jada Pinkett-Smith has a body to die for and a marriage that makes black women roll their eyes. But, Jada, the second half of one of the most powerful black Hollywood couples, is rumored to have undergone cheek implants. In a couple pics I saw of Jada, I thought she was wearing the “Scream” mask. According to Stars Plastic Surgery, Will’s better half turns 40 this year, and her face shows few signs of aging. Will and Jada recently appeared on the cover of Essence magazine, and some suggest that she had plastic surgery. But the rumor was discredited because her flawless look was attributed to good ole Photoshop. Jada’s hairstyle also contributes to her adjusted look. Jada’s recent appearance on Letterman suggests that she also dabbles in skin tanning. Earlier this year, Jada and Will drew criticism from “How Did Stella Get Her Groove Back” and “Waiting to Exhale” author Terry McMillan. The author said the couple was “pimpin’” their celebrity children, actor son Jaden and singer daughter Willow.

Known for her sultry looks and serious acting chops, Jessica Lange has been a big time actress for decades. She’s been nominated for six Academy Awards (winning twice), and has also won multiple Golden Globes and Emmys. She’s a living legend in the acting community, but now she’s on her way to being one in the world of celebrity plastic surgery. Over the last ten years, it seems Lange has had extensive work done in an effort to keep her famous looks. We can start with her forehead, which lacks the wrinkles a 60-something woman should have. Why? Well, she’s either had injections (like Botox), or more likely, a brow lift; giving her skin a very taught and tight look. She also may have had eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to keep her eyes from getting baggy and crow footed, and as a side effect, her eyes are now smaller and more squinty. Moving further down her face, we see that her cheek skin is also unusually tight, probably the result of a face lift. Lastly, we have her lack of any sort of turkey neck or saggy chin; probably the results of a neck lift. So basically, Jessica Lange has almost no remnants of her real face, and if she keeps getting work done, people are gonna start asking, “Hey! Who’s that lady in the Jessica Lange mask?”, so she should quit while she’s ahead…or start charging to impersonate herself at parties.
